One downside of analyzing and improving interfaces for a living is that it’s no longer possible for me to see any website with an uncritical eye. As a result, even though I enjoy visiting the site of my favorite team — the Oakland Athletics — I can no longer look past its flaws. I figured one way to get this out of my system was to write about it on Medium. The A’s site has frankly too many UX issues to cover briefly, so I focused on the very top of the page: the ‘branding banner’ and top navigation. It’s not all bad news, but there’s a lot of room for improvement.
